Contact Lenses in Picayune
& Pearl River

At Advanced Eyecare, we offer contact lenses in Picayune and Pearl River for patients with a range of vision needs, from first-time wearers to those who've struggled for years to find a comfortable fit.

Every fitting starts with a thorough contact lens exam—a more detailed evaluation than a standard eye examOur eye doctors use corneal mapping to precisely measure the shape and curvature of your eye, assess your tear film, and discuss how you use your vision throughout the day to determine which lens type is the right match for you. Whether you're looking for daily disposables or a specialty lens for a more complex prescription, we take the time to get it right.

Types of contact lenses we offer

Lens type, material, and fit all affect how comfortable and effective your contacts are day to day. Here's a look at the contact lenses we offer at Advanced Eyecare:

Soft contact lenses

Soft contact lenses are the most commonly prescribed lens type and a great starting point for most patients. Made from flexible, water-containing materials that conform to the shape of the eye, they tend to be comfortable and easy to adapt to.

We offer a full selection of soft contact lenses, including daily disposables, bi-weekly, and monthly contacts. These lenses are available in designs that correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and mild astigmatism.

Rigid gas permeable contact lenses

Rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses are made from a firm, oxygen-permeable material that maintains its shape on the eye, providing consistently sharp, clear vision that soft lenses may not always achieve. They are often recommended for patients with moderate to severe astigmatism, keratoconus, corneal irregularities, or prescriptions that haven’t been fully corrected with soft contact lenses.

Scleral contact lenses

Scleral lenses are large-diameter specialty lenses that vault over the cornea and rest on the sclera, creating a fluid reservoir that keeps the ocular surface continuously hydrated. They're an excellent option for patients with keratoconus, severe dry eye, post-surgical corneal changes, or high prescriptions that are difficult to fit with standard lenses.

For patients who've been told contacts aren't an option, scleral lenses are often the solution that makes lens wear possible.

Toric contact lenses

Toric lenses are designed specifically to correct astigmatism, a common condition caused by an irregularly shaped cornea that can lead to blurred or distorted vision. Unlike standard contact lenses, toric lenses are built to stay in the correct position on the eye, helping maintain clear, stable vision with each blink.

Multifocal contact lenses

Multifocal lenses are designed for patients who need vision correction at multiple distances. They are most often used by those experiencing presbyopia, the age-related change in near vision that typically begins in the mid-40s. Instead of switching between glasses for different tasks, these lenses provide a seamless range of vision in one lens, supporting clear sight up close, at intermediate distances, and far away.

Monovision contact lenses

Monovision is a contact lens approach used to manage presbyopia by correcting one eye for distance vision and the other for near vision. The brain learns to combine the two inputs, allowing for functional vision across multiple distances without relying on reading glasses.
