What to bring to your eye exam
To help make your visit as efficient as possible, please bring:
- Vision and medical insurance cards
- A list of current medications (including dosage and strength) or medication bottles
- Your current eyeglasses, sunglasses, and any reading or computer glasses

Appointment changes
If you’re unable to keep your scheduled appointment, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice so the appointment time can be offered to another patient. To reschedule your visit, please call our Picayune office at (601) 799-0707 or our Pearl River office at (985) 250-8000.
Check your insurance coverage
Before your visit, it’s a good idea to review your benefits and confirm coverage. We accept a wide range of vision and medical insurance plans.
Eyewear ordering and payment
Because eyewear is custom-made based on your prescription and measurements, we will collect payment before ordering to begin the lab process promptly. Once your eyewear is ready, you’ll be contacted to return for a final fitting and adjustment.
What to expect during your eye exam
A typical eye exam visit takes about 1.5 hours and follows a 5-step process designed to provide a complete picture of your vision and eye health:
- Initial testing: A technician performs preliminary tests that help prepare for your exam.
- Eye dilation (when needed): Dilation allows for a detailed view inside the eye. It is painless and may take about 25 minutes for the pupils to fully dilate.
- Doctor evaluation: Your eye doctor reviews your results, examines your eye health, answers questions, and discusses personalized recommendations.
- Eyewear or contact lens services: If needed, prescriptions are filled with careful attention to accuracy and comfort.
- Checkout and follow-up planning: We collect any applicable fees and schedule follow-up visits or additional testing if recommended.
